Teen Anger Management Education (TAME)

 

Objectives

The objectives of Teen Anger Management Education (TAME) are to provide an educational framework for effective anger management and conflict resolution skills for adolescents (ages 13-17 years). Adolescents are assisted to identify, address and process issues that have led to their ineffective behavioral coping skills. To support adolescents in practicing skill-building activities that will increase self-efficacy and improved interpersonal and social relations. The program structure is two individual sessions and twelve weekly interactive education/group sessions.

Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program for Teens (ADAPT)

Objectives

The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program for Teens (ADAPT) is designed to give adolescents (age 13-17 years) factual information on the effects, the outcomes, and consequences of using or abusing alcohol and/or other drugs. The program requires an orientation for the parent/caregiver enrolling their adolescent into the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program for Teens (ADAPT). Additional information, resources and support are offered to family members during the orientation. The program structure consists of two individual sessions, eight interactive education/group sessions and two random drug screens. The weekly interactive educational/group sessions provide an opportunity for adolescents to differentiate factual information from their learned beliefs related to substance use and effects.

Comprehensive Adolescent Treatment Program: Choices & Changes

Objective

The objective of the Comprehensive Adolescent Treatment Program: Choices & Changes is to promote the well-being of high risk youth by educating them to their risks and consequences of alcohol/other drug use and abuse and assist them to develop skills and a personal plan to avoid future problems. Choices & Changes is a two-part intervention program for individuals under the age of 21 who exhibit high-risk behavior, including alcohol/other drug related use and abuse. Choices & Changes intervention program is comprised of two phases. All participants enter at Phase I with an assessment of the adolescent, ten weeks of interactive education/group sessions, ten random drug screens, and an individual counseling session and a reassessment at the conclusion of Phase I services. An adolescent will either be assessed at having met all goals and objectives of assessed needs for a completion or recommendation into Phase II. A recommendation into Phase II of the program is based on a counseling team approach utilizing the initial intake information, ongoing evaluations throughout Phase I services and a one-on-one counseling session and the results of the reassessment with the youth and family member(s). Phase II is comprised of thirteen weeks of group processing sessions, thirteen weeks of family counseling sessions, fourteen weeks of individual counseling sessions and fourteen random drug screens.
